DPRK issues new stamps to mark top leader's China visit

THE Democratic People's Republic of Korea recently issued two groups of new stamps to commemorate the unofficial visit to China paid by top leader Kim Jong Il in August, the official news agency KCNA reported today.

According to the KCNA, seen on the top of the stamp issued by the State Stamp Bureau of the DPRK are inscriptions "Commemoration of the unofficial visit of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il to the PRC," "August 26 -- August 30, Juche 99 (2010)."

One group of stamps shows the pictures of Kim meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao, and the other one carries the pictures of Kim visiting the Yuwen Middle School in Jilin province in which late DPRK President Kim Il Sung once studied and pictures of Kim Jong Il visiting northeastern China.

Kim Jong Il paid two unofficial visits to China respectively in May and August this year.
