DPRK says not to drop nuclear weapons under US threat
THE Democratic People's Republic of Korea will retain its nuclear weapons as long as it feels even the slightest threat from the United States, the official KCNA news cited a foreign ministry spokesman as saying today.
The DPRK will not trade its nuclear weapons with the relations with the United States, the spokesman said.
"If there is something to be desired by us, it is not to normalize the relations between the DPRK and the United States, but to boost the nuclear deterrent in every possible way," he added.
The latest round of the six-party talks ended in early December last year with no agreement on nuclear verification, as the DPRK and the United States differed over related issues.
The DPRK urged on Tuesday the United States to drop hostile policy towards it before it gives up its nuclear weapons program.
