DR Congo boat wreckage kills 100 people

AT least 100 passengers lost their lives in a boat wreckage that happened on River Kasai in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) between Sunday night and yesterday morning, well placed sources have said.

The same sources affirmed that overloading and bad weather could have been the cause of this tragedy.

The tragedy came only days after 39 people died in another wreckage on Lake Kivu in late April.

More than 100 people were on board the vessel when it capsized on Lake Kivu. That accident was linked to bad weather and high winds.
