Digital connectivity should become basic right in India: Modi
INDIAN Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday said on Saturday that digital connectivity should become a basic right in the country just like the right to schooling.
"Digital connectivity should become as much a basic right as access to school," Modi said while addressing the Indian Science Congress in Mumbai.
He also assured the scientific community of cutting red tape and called for their cooperation in "transforming" the country.
"You will have no better supporter than me. In turn, I seek your help in transforming India," the tech-savvy prime minister told the scientific community.
"We need to put science, technology and innovation at the top of national priorities. Above all, we must restore the pride and prestige of science and scientists in our nation."
