Dubai Police launches first Mideast-app to fight human trafficking

THE Dubai Police launched here Saturday a smart app to combat human trafficking, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) state news agency WAM reported.
The Dubai Police said the app is the first of its kind in the Middle East.
Mohammed Al Murr, director-general of the general directorate of human rights at Dubai Police, said the service will help human trafficking victims to report, so that police officers could reach out and provide them with legal supports.
He said the UAE has launched a number of programs and campaigns, as well as enacted stringent laws to "eradicate all forms and manifestations of the inhuman crimes."
In July this year, the Dubai Police and the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children launched a five-year anti-human-trafficking plan with the objective to raise awareness among victims, witnesses and authorities to combat the crimes.
