Emirates suspends all flights to Guinea
DUBAI’S Emirates yesterday became the first major international airline to impose a ban on flights to Guinea due to the Ebola crisis.
“The safety of our passengers and crew is of the highest priority and will not be compromised,” it said on its website, adding that flights will be suspended until further notice.
The Ebola outbreak has already killed more than 700 people. In line with guidelines from international airlines association IATA and the World Health Organization, several major carriers and airports have started health screening of passengers on flights from West Africa.
