A chartered flight from Thailand to China on Friday night was forced to divert due to a technical problem, the airline said yesterday.

Orient Thai Airlines flight OX682 was en route from Phuket to Chengdu in southwest China, carrying mostly Chinese passengers, it said.

Though it did not elaborate, Orient Thai said it was necessary to divert the aircraft to Kunming.
