UNIDENTIFIED armed men attacked a foreigner with knife on the road leading to Kabul airport and injured him on Wednesday, a local television reported. "Unidentified armed men attacked with knife on a foreigner on the road leading to Kabul international airport at 10:30am local time today and attempted to behead him but due to the intervention of passersby had failed and made their good escape," Tolo television reported in its news bulletin.

The injured man has been taken to a hospital, the television channel added without giving more details.

Officials have yet to make comments.
