Gilt-edged Gifts ... And Guilt
WHAT'S Christmas without a little indulgence and a lot of guilt?
A global survey shows that while two in three people treat themselves to a luxury purchase, a third then feel bad about it.
The survey of 8,100 people by market researchers Synovate showed that while luxury goods are supposed to make people feel good, about 32 percent of respondents across Europe, Asia and the Americas felt guilty after their purchase.
This was especially prominent in Britain, where 72 percent reported feeling guilty about their luxury treats.
