Grad missile hits Jordan's Aqaba
FOUR people were injured, with one in critical condition, when a grad missile hit Jordan's southern city of Aqaba this morning, according to official sources.
Jordan's Minister of State for Communications and Media Affairs Ali Ayed said in press statements that the missile was launched from outside the Jordanian territories, adding that an investigation has been launched.
The missile hit a main street at local time 7:45am (0745 GMT) today in front of the Inter Continental Hotel in Aqaba.
According to the minister, two cars were also burned and financial losses occurred as a result of the missile.
Eye-witnesses told Xinhua that security forces were deployed in the area hit by the missile and prevented people from approaching.
On April 22, a grad missile was launched from outside the Jordanian territories and hit a warehouse in the southern governorate of Aqaba, causing an explosion.
