Grammys open with Lamar ahead in nominations

The main ceremony of the Grammy Awards opened Monday, with rapper Kendrick Lamar the leader with 11 nominations -- and already four awards.

The Grammy gala, nationally televised from Los Angeles, began with a performance by pop superstar Taylor Swift, who sang "Out of the Woods."

Swift was nominated for seven Grammys, but Lamar -- whose politically charged "To Pimp a Butterfly" has won wide acclaim - was ahead with 11.
