Indian yoga guru ends fast against corruption

INDIA'S yoga guru Ramdev today broke his fast unto death against corruption in the presence of a number of spiritual leaders at a hospital in Dehradun, northern India, according to local media reports.

Ramdev has broken his fast by taking juice. He ended the fast in the presence of various religious and spiritual leaders, the reports quoted a prominent spiritual leader, Sri Sri Ravishankar, as saying, after meeting the 46-year-old yoga exponent at the hospital.

The yoga guru was on hunger strike at his ashram in Haridwar, northern India, for the past nine days to protest against corruption and black money issues.

He was earlier evicted from the Indian capital by police while staging a massive protest against corruption.

He was admitted to Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences three days ago after his condition reportedly deteriorated.
