Internet, communications disrupted in Cairo ahead of mass protest

THE Internet service has been down in Cairo since early today as protestors are reportedly planning massive gatherings after prayers.

Mobile phone communication was also disrupted this morning.

The signal of the Arabic news channel of Al-Jazeera, also could not be received around midday today by some residents in Cairo.

Egypt's Interior Ministry yesterday warned in a statement against any moves against public security or damage to public and property.

The nationwide protest, which began on Tuesday, has left several dead and hundreds injured, according to Egyptian media.
