Iran's Bombs Could Be 2 Years Away
CIA Director Leon Panetta said Iran probably has enough low-enriched uranium for two nuclear weapons, but that it could take two years to build the bombs.
He also doubted United Nations penalties would put an end to Iran's nuclear ambitions. He said they could help to weaken Iran by creating economic problems but added: "Will it deter them from their ambitions with regards to nuclear capability? Probably not."
On a potential Israeli military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, Panetta said he thought Israel was giving the United States room on diplomatic and political fronts.
