Japan PM rules out war shrine visit
JAPANESE Prime Minister Naoto Kan said today he will not visit the war-related Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo during his tenure.
Kan made the pledge during a House of Councilors plenary session, saying "as Class-A war criminals are enshrined there, an official visit by the prime minister or Cabinet members is problematic," and so he had no plan to visit it during his tenure.
