Japan's Honshu encounters 6.2-magnitude quake

An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 23:35: 53 GMT (07:35:53 Beijing Time) today, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 37.60km, was initially determined to be at 37.38 degrees north latitude and 141.41 degrees east longitude.
