Kim Jong Il nominated as DPRK parliamentary candidate

KIM Jong Il, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has been nominated as a candidate for the country's top legislature, the official Rodong Sinmun daily reported today.

Kim, chosen as a candidate from constituency No. 333 for the 12th Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), would be a representative on behalf of the army.

The SPA session is due on March 8.

The SPA is the highest legislative body in the DPRK. Its members are elected through popular vote to serve a term of five years.
