Light plane crashes in south Finland, pilot dead

A light aircraft crashed in the sea in south Finland on Saturday morning, leaving the pilot dead, local media reported.
There was no passenger on board.
Soon after the accident was reported around lunch time, divers freed the pilot from the partly submerged plane, but they were unable to revive the pilot, according to media reports.
The crashed plane has been dredged up from the sea, and it was found badly broken.
The ill-fated plane was flying from Tampere to the capital region when it crashed, rescuers said. The accident site was located about 500 meters from the Toppelund Beach in Haukilahti district of Espoo, a satellite city of Helsinki.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Ismo Aaltonen, director of the Western Uusimaa Rescue Department of Finland, told the daily Helsingin Sanomat that the aircraft was a ultra-light model, which can be put in the water if necessary.
Accidents of this kind of planes are usually caused by flight operations, said Aaltonen. However, it is too early to confirm the reason.
