Lightning kills 7 from same family in Mexico: report

SEVEN people from the same family, including four children and three women, died in a deadly lightning strike in central Mexico on Friday, according to authorities.

Another child and a 26-year-old woman were injured, AFP reported, quoting a local civil protection official.

The victims were hit by lightning while working in a field in a storm in the mountainous town of Mesa Cuata, Guanajuato state.

The killed children were aged three, five, nine and 14, and the women aged 19, 32 and 44, the official said.
