Lindsay Lohan denies setting off alcohol bracelet
A JUDGE yesterday ordered an emergency meeting of Lindsay Lohan's attorney and prosecutors in her drunken driving case after reports, which were denied by Lohan, that her alcohol-monitoring bracelet was set off this past weekend.
Lohan, who last month was ordered to wear the SCRAM bracelet after missing a drunken driving probation hearing, tweeted on her account: "My scram wasn't set off-it's physically impossible considering I've nothing for it to go off-All of these false reports are absolutely wrong."
Early this week, reports citing unnamed sources surfaced on celebrity websites and in tabloids saying the actress was drinking alcohol on Sunday following MTV's Movie Awards.
Tuesday, new reports said the SCRAM device had sounded an alarm after detecting alcohol in Lohan's blood. Judge Marsha Revel ordered the lawyers to meet in her court and discuss the matter.
On Twitter, Lohan claimed: "This is all because of a FALSE accusation by tabloids& paparazzi& it is...digusting- I've been more than I'm (sic) compliance &feeling great."
Lohan, 23, rose to fame in Disney movies such as "Freaky Friday" and as a teenager was considered one of Hollywood's best young actresses. But in recent years, her hard-partying ways have led to trouble and her career has stumbled.
In 2007, she was charged with reckless driving, drunken driving, and driving under the influence of cocaine. A judge gave her a sentence that included probation and mandatory attendance at alcohol education classes.
Last month, Lohan was due to appear in Judge Revel's courtroom for a hearing on her case, but she missed the date because she was at the Cannes film festival in France.
Judge Revel, who in October warned Lohan she risked going to jail unless she took the matter more seriously, issued an arrest warrant. Days later, when Lohan returned from France claiming her passport had been stolen, Revel ordered her to undergo random drug and alcohol tests and had her fitted with the SCRAM bracelet.
It is unclear exactly what the judge's punishment would be if Lohan were caught drinking.
