London hit by 3rd subway strike in as many months
LONDON subway workers are on strike for the third time in as many months, leaving the capital's residents struggling through another morning commute.
Nearly every line on London's Underground subway network - known as the Tube - was suspended or disrupted early this morning. The 24-hour strike is scheduled to end later today.
Two major transport unions say they're taking action to protect the jobs of hundreds of ticket staff and station managers.
Mayor Boris Johnson called the strike "pointless," while the unions accuse him of reneging on his election pledges.
The previous strike, held last month, cut services by 40 percent. A fourth strike is planned for November 29.
The capital's firefighters' also plan to go on strike Friday.
