Madagascan opposition takes over prime minister's office

MADAGASCAN Prime Minister Charles Rabemananjara's office was taken over by the opposition this morning.

The prime minister's office was taken over by Monja Roindefo, the prime minister of the transitional government appointed by opposition leader Andry Rajoelina early last month.

Monja Roindefo said at a press conference held at the prime minister office that the take-over operation was going on calmly and smoothly.

Roindefo said the take-over was decided last Thursday when he met with Prime Minister Rabemananjara, who had agreed to leave his office.

There has been no information on whereabouts of Rabemananjara till now.
