Malaysia Airlines points to reality 'we must accept'
MALAYSIAN Prime Minister Najib Razak's announcement that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean is reality "we must accept," CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said today.
Also speaking at a press conference, chairman Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof said analysis and "rational deduction" have led to the belief that there were no survivors on the plane, which disappeared in the early hours of March 8 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.
"We do not know why, we do not how this terrible tragedy happened," they said, adding that their company is ready to offer additional payment for the next-of-kin of MH370 passengers as search operations continue.
They said they will arrange the relatives to fly to Australia if debris of the ill-fated Boeing 777 aircraft is located and confirmed.
However, despite Malaysia's announcement, the intensive multinational search mission in the southern Indian Ocean has not recovered any solid clue about the whereabouts of the missing jetliner.
