Malaysia Airlines told to give report on flight MH192 by Wednesday

MALAYSIAN Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said today that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) should give a report by Wednesday to the Transport Ministry on the incident that a flight bound for Bangalore, India, was forced to turn back.
The Malaysia Airlines flight MH192 with 166 people on board landed safely at the Kuala Lumpur airport early today because one of the tyres on its main landing gear burst during takeoff.
He said this sort of incidents should not happen, and the ministry should be given a report as soon as possible.
"I give them two days. On Wednesday, I want to see an early report as this is not something like MH370 that is missing in the Indian Ocean, it is related to the condition of the tyres (of the landing gear)," he said.
The Department of Civil Aviation and MAS have been told to be on standby while the notes of the report should be handed to the ministry as soon as possible, he added.
Hishammuddin also praised the pilot of the aircraft, saying he had handled the incident in a professional way.
"The passengers, despite being tired, expressed their admiration for the pilot's skillful handling of the aircraft in making the emergency landing safely without any harm to the passengers," he said.
On March 8, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 carrying 239 people disappeared soon after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing. The search for its presumed wreckage is continuing in the southern Indian Ocean.
