Mayor claim 'absurd'
A former sex slave said yesterday that Japanese politician Toru Hashimoto's remarks about Japan's wartime sex slavery are "absurd."
Kim Bok-dong, 87, from South Korea, was referring to comments by the Osaka mayor who said Japan's wartime practice of forcing Asian women into prostitution for its military was considered necessary.
Kim said anyone making such an "absurd comment" should quit politics. Kim and another victim canceled a planned meeting on Friday with him.
