Middleton rehearses for wedding
PALACE officials say Kate Middleton and her future brother-in-law Prince Harry were at Westminster Abbey yesterday morning for a rehearsal with bridesmaids and pages for the royal wedding.
Prince William, who will tie the knot with Middleton on April 29, was at work in Wales and did not attend, his office said.
With time winding down before the big day, the palace revealed further details about the event.
The palace said Middleton will spend her last night as a single woman with her family in a posh London hotel.
The decision to stay at The Goring, a 5-star hotel near the Abbey, was the bride's personal choice, the palace added.
The hotel is also just a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace.
Middleton's close family, including her mother Carole and sister Pippa, her maid of honor, will also stay at the luxury hotel.
She will stay in the hotel's most opulent suite, which opened in 1910, the Sun newspaper reported, adding that The Goring had spent 150,000 pounds (US$245,400) giving the top-floor apartment a makeover ahead of her stay.
The paper said the accommodation included a four-poster bed, an original "venerable" toilet made by 19th Century plumber Thomas Crapper, and antique gown, thought to be a prototype of the one worn by Queen Victoria on her wedding day.
It also features a waterproof TV in the bathroom and there is a painting depicting the TV character "Blackadder" kissing the hand of Queen Elizabeth I.
The wedding service is scheduled to begin at 11am and will be relayed to well-wishers along the ceremonial route by audio speakers.
