More tourists rescued after boat sinking in Indonesia

Sailors rescued eight foreign holiday makers, four crew members and one tour guide around midnight Sunday after a boat capsized in waters off the Lombok Island in central Indonesia Saturday evening, an official said on Monday.

A total of 23 people have been rescued and two others still remain missing, Budiawan, coordinator of the searching mission, told Xinhua over phone.

"Search and rescue operation to find out two other tourists is underway now,"  he added.

The 13 people rescued on Sunday include four tourists from the Netherlands, two from Germany and two from Italy, said Ari Wiryawan, a rescuer in charge at the Search and Rescue Office on West Nusa Tenggara province.

The nationality of those missing is yet to be known, Wiryawan added.

The boat from Labuhan of Bali to Pulau Komodo (Komodo island) of West Nusa Tenggara hit corals at about 13:00 pm local time on Saturday and capsized about six hours later.
