Nigerian VP says party will be victorious in election

NIGERIAN Vice-President Namadi Sambo yesterday expressed confidence that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would emerge victorious at the presidential election.

The vice president said this in northern in Kaduna State while fielding questions from reporters shortly after casting his vote at Camp Road, polling unit, Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna.

"We thank God that again today Nigerians have come out en-masse to exercise their civic right and vote for the right candidate," he added.

"I have said it just this week in Lagos that Nigerians have already spoken in last week's elections," Sambo told reporters.

"You will notice that PDP has already had the maximum spread. The PDP has the highest votes and people should not waste their votes," he said.

The vice-president expressed delight at large turnout of voters and the peaceful conduct of the election.

He commended the electorate for conducting themselves peacefully during the exercise.
