No cancer in growth removed from Spanish king
DOCTORS say full tests show there are no traces of cancer in the small tumor removed from Spain's King Juan Carlos.
Hospital Clinic in Barcelona says the 72-year-old monarch is recovering satisfactorily from Saturday's operation.
The king remained in the hospital today.
A statement issued late Monday says, "The complete pathological analysis performed rules out definitively the presence of malignant cells in the lung nodules removed."
The hospital says the king was able to walk around and receive visits from relatives and officials.
The king has a history of heavy smoking but has not been seen smoking in recent years. The Royal Palace will not say if he has stopped.
