WITNESSES say there was no sign of thousands of Thai anti-government protesters leaving their main encampment in central Bangkok after troops started closing in with a possible operation to evict them today.
"We are fighting for democracy," a man shouted into a speaker at a Buddhist temple where women and children were gathering.
Others were gathering in front of the stage with protest "guards" were manning barricades.
