Norwegian boy dies of swine flu infection
AN 11-year old boy from the Norwegian county of Telemark has died of a swine virus infection, the Norwegian-language newspaper Aftenposten reported yesterday.
The boy had been seriously ill for two weeks before being transferred from a local hospital to the Riks Hospital in Oslo on Christmas Eve, said Bjoernar nyen, a doctor in Porsgrunn, the boy's hometown.
Nyen confirmed that the boy had been infected with the H1N1 virus, which is known as the swine flu virus and died as a result.
The boy's immediate family members were being monitored by medical workers, according to the Telemark Daily.
No other details about the death were available.
