Obama arrives in Boston to deliver Kennedy eulogy

PRESIDENT Barack Obama has arrived in Boston to deliver the eulogy at Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's funeral.

The president and first lady Michelle Obama landed at Logan International Airport last night after a short flight from their vacation on Martha's Vineyard.

They traveled a day early because concern as Tropical Storm Danny approached the East Coast.

Kennedy died Tuesday at age 77 after being stricken with brain cancer.

Aides say the president has overseen his staff's preparation of the remarks he will deliver today before about 1,500 people at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica. The crowd will include former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

Obama plans to return to Martha's Vineyard after the funeral and fly home to Washington tomorrow.
