PM's Popularity Grows
PUBLIC support for Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan is recovering as his administration tackles the natural and nuclear disasters, the latest poll shows.
The Kyodo News agency survey found approval of Kan and his Cabinet rose to 28.3 percent after sinking below 20 percent in February.
About 58 percent of respondents in the survey said they approved of the government's handling of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, but a similar number criticized its handling of the nuclear crisis.
