Philippines bomb attack kills 6
A homemade bomb ripped through a row of upscale bars and restaurants in the southern Philippine port city of Cagayan de Oro, late Friday, killing six people and wounding at least 28, police said yesterday.
Victims of the blast were mostly medical representatives and guests of a pharmaceutical company who had attended a medical conference in one of the restaurants, said police. One fatality was a provincial legislator Roldan Lagbas, 44, who was at an open air bar when hit in the head by shrapnel.
