Philippines hit again
FIERCE winds and heavy rain from a typhoon again battered the Philippines yesterday, killing at least 10 people and displacing 145,000 others.
Typhoon Saola later shifted away from the Philippines after lashing Manila and two-thirds of the nation since Sunday.
One of the victims was a 64-year-old woman hit by a landslide early yesterday after she climbed onto her roof to fix a leak while rain pounded the northern town of Itogon. Most of the others drowned or were hit by falling trees or debris.
