Pieces of Hollywood history on auction block

PIECES of Hollywood history are on the auction block at a Los Angeles prop shop.

The recession-battered 20th Century Props, which offers a massive inventory of items for use in film and television productions, is closing its doors.

Owner Harvey Schwartz says he ran out of money three months ago and had no choice but to auction off the items.

Among the inventory: the rattan sofa from the TV comedy "The Golden Girls," the futuristic shower Tom Cruise used in "Minority Report" and a chair Claudette Colbert sat on in the 1934 version of "Cleopatra."

The auction began Tuesday and will last through Saturday.
