Plane Lands Safely In New York After Engine Problem

A Delta Airlines flight landed safely at New York's JFK Airport on Sunday after the pilot complained of an engine problem shortly after takeoff, authorities said.

Moscow-bound Flight 30 had just left JFK when the pilot noticed a problem with the left engine on the Boeing 767 plane, said a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, who added that "everything's fine."

Firefighters and emergency crews responded and the aircraft landed safely back at JFK, Delta and the Federal Aviation Administration announced.

There were no reported injuries. Delta said the 193 passengers and 11 crewmembers got off the plane safely, with the passengers put on another Moscow-bound flight.
