Pledges Fall Short
CUTS in emissions pledged last year fall short of what's needed to avoid the worst consequences of global warming, the United Nation's environment agency said yesterday.
The UN Environmental Program said that even if countries' voluntary pledges made in Copenhagen were fully met, that would only achieve 60 percent of the cuts needed.
