Relatives told to return home as hotel accommodation ends
MALAYSIA Airlines is to cease providing hotel accommodation for passengers’ relatives by May 7, it said yesterday.
The Malaysian flag carrier provided rooms for relatives in a number of countries — most of them in Malaysia and China — where it gave them periodic updates on the situation since shortly after the flight disappeared on March 8.
The airline said yesterday the families are advised to receive information updates and other support “within the comfort of their own homes, with the support and care of their families and friends.”
