Roadside bomb kills 15 in Afghanistan
FIFTEEN civilians were killed and another injured when a roadside bomb hit a bus in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province this morning, Interior Ministry said.
"The bloody incident occurred at around 10am local time statuary when a mini-bus touched off a roadside bomb in Arghandab district. As a result 15 civilians including eight children, four women and three men were killed and one woman was wounded," said a statement issued here by Interior Ministry.
The statement blamed Taliban insurgents for the blast. However, Taliban militants have yet to make response.
"The Ministry of Interior condemns this inhumane and coward action of insurgents and expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims," the statement added.
Taliban-led insurgency claimed the lives of over 2,700 civilians in the country in 2010.
