Russia to supply Mexico with enriched uranium
RUSSIAN Federal Atomic Agency Rosatom declared yesterday it will supply enriched uranium to Mexico.
Head of the agency Sergei Kirienko said the total export contracts would reach US$20 billion, reported the Interfax news agency.
The deal concerns the re-export contract between Russian exporter of nuclear materials OJSC Tekhsnabexport and US firm Nukem Inc, which is to supply Russian uranium production to a Mexican company.
According to Kirienko, this year the new contracts over uranium supplies to Switzerland and South Africa have already been signed.
Tekhsnabexport has already signed long-term three-billion-dollar contracts with US companies for the supply of enriched uranium.
