S. Korea names defense minister as presidential security adviser

SOUTH Korean President Park Geun-hye on Sunday nominated the incumbent Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin for the post of top presidential security adviser.

Presidential spokesman Min Kyung-wook told a press briefing that Park named new top security adviser and defense minister to make sure defense readiness and to prevent vacuum in national security.

Han Min-koo, former chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JSC), was named as new defense minister to replace the outgoing Kim.
