S. Korean military on alert

SOUTH Korean soldiers ride a self-propelled howitzer during a military drill yesterday against possible attack from North Korea. The exercise took place near the demilitarized zone that separates the two Koreas. North Korea may fire a long-range ballistic missile toward Hawaii in early July, according to a Japanese news report yesterday, while a think tank said North Korea's massive stockpile of chemical weapons is also a serious threat.
