Smoked salmon and bubble and squeak ... washed down with fine champagne

AROUND 650 guests drawn from the congregation at the wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey attended a reception at Buckingham Palace afterwards. They were served a selection of canapes, including:

- Cornish crab salad on lemon blini

- Scottish smoked salmon rose on beetroot blini

- Bubble and squeak with confit shoulder of lamb

- Grain mustard and honey-glazed chipolatas

- Miniature Yorkshire pudding with roast fillet of beef and horseradish mousse

- Raspberry financier

- Rhubarb creme brulee tartlet

Guests were served Pol Roger NV brut reserve champagne - along with other soft and alcoholic drinks. The reception included the cutting of the wedding cake and some speeches.
