Spain Furious At Accusations It Was To Blame
SPAIN'S Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has hit out at the European Commission and Germany for singling out the country's produce as a possible source of a deadly bacterial outbreak, and said the government would demand explanations and reparations.
The crisis paralyzed Spanish exports of fruit and vegetables, Zapatero said. Spanish farmers say the wrongful accusations had destroyed their credibility and thus their exports to the rest of Europe.
