Strong quake hits Japan's Kanto region
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 hit Japan's Kanto region today, said the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The focus of the quake, which occurred at 12:25 pm (0325 GMT), was located 480 km under the sea west of the Ogasawara Islands, said the agency.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to properties, and no tsunami warning was issued.
