Susan Boyle returns to tour after 'rest day'
THE 48-year-old singer Susan Boyle returned to the stage yesterday after canceling a weekend singing engagement with the "Britain's Got Talent" live tour.
She song "Memory" and "I Dreamed a Dream," the tune that made her a star on "Britain's Got Talent" contest in April, in front of 6,000 Scots in Glasgow yesterday and earned a standing ovation from the audience.
The Scottish church volunteer shot to fame as a contestant on the reality contestant. Her first performance on the reality competition in April was downloaded around 200 million times online, making her a global celebrity, but she has struggled to cope with the pressures of her sudden fame.
She briefly checked into a London clinic after the contest and was treated for exhaustion there.
After release from the hospital, she played her first shows on the "Britain's Got Talent" tour in Birmingham on Friday and Sheffield in England on Saturday, but did not appear at a Sunday matinee and evening show at The Manchester Evening News Arena.
After the tour is finished, Boyle is expected to record an album which will hit stores by Christmas.
