Sydney police arrest 2 men in counter-terrorism raids
TWO men have been arrested after counter-terrorism raids in Sydney, following investigations into people backing fighters involved in conflicts such as in Syria and Iraq, Australian officials said yesterday.
A 33-year-old was arrested following raids at four properties that police said were “part of a long-running investigation and not as a result of any specific terrorism threat.”
Separately, a 21-year-old man was arrested on Friday on warrants related to the possession of unauthorized firearms and ammunition found in a separate raid last month.
