Thailand set to break massage world record
THAILAND has long been known as the massage capital of the world. Now it's going to prove it.
Some 800 masseuses in Bangkok are vying to make it into the Guinness World Records book on today by mass-massaging 800 people simultaneously for 12 minutes.
The event is being organized by the Health Ministry to promote the country's massage and spa industry to the world.
It will be presided over by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, and a representative from Guinness World Records is expected to attend.
If successful, Thailand will crush the previous record of 263 people being massaged at the same time. That record was set in Australia in 2010.
