The Lights Go Out In Seoul
THE entertainment districts of Seoul were pitched into darkness yesterday as the government clamped down on energy use to cope with rising oil prices.
Neon signs and outdoor lights were ordered switched off in the business and entertainment districts in Seoul - a tangible sign of how rising oil prices are hurting the resource-starved country.
About 92,000 establishments nationwide have been targeted by the government lighting restrictions.
